وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَاءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِنَ النَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِنْ دُونِهِمُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَانِ ۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِي حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ الرِّعَاءُ ۖ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
Nígbà tí ó dé ibi (kànǹga) omi (ìlú) Mọdyan, ó bá ìjọ ènìyàn kan níbẹ̀ tí wọ́n ń fún àwọn ẹran-ọ̀sìn wọn ní omi mu. Lẹ́yìn wọn, ó tún rí àwọn obìnrin méjì kan tí wọ́n ń fà sẹ́yìn (pẹ̀lú ẹran-ọ̀sìn wọn). Ó sọ pé: “Kí l’ó ṣe ẹ̀yin méjèèjì?” Wọ́n sọ pé: “A ò lè fún àwọn ẹran-ọ̀sìn wa ní omi mu títí àwọn adaran bá tó kó àwọn ẹran-ọ̀sìn wọn lọ. Àgbàlagbà arúgbó sì ni bàbá wa.”

23. When he reached the waterhole of Madyan he found a group of people watering their livestock. He also found two women a little distance away, stopping their livestock from the water until the rest of the people finished. Moses asked them: “Why is it that you do not water your livestock along with the rest of the people?” They said to him, “It is our habit that we arrive but do not water until the shepherds disperse, fearing mixing in with them. Our father is an aged man; he cannot water the livestock, so we are compelled to do it ourselves.”
