An-Nisa · 4:7
لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالْأَقْرَبُونَ وَلِلنِّسَاءِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالْأَقْرَبُونَ مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَثُرَ ۚ نَصِيبًا مَفْرُوضًا
Wanaume, wadogo na wakubwa, wana fungu lililopasishwa na Mwenyezi Mungu katika mali yalioachwa na wazazi wawili au jamaa wa karibu, yawe ni kidogo mali hayo au ni mengi, katika mafungu maalumu yaliyo wazi yaliyofaradhiwa na Mwenyezi Mungu, Aliyetukuka na kushinda, kwa hawa wanaume na pia wanawake.

7. Men are to have a share of what their parents or relatives – such as brothers and sisters or uncles and aunts – leave when they die, whether it is much or little. Women are also to have a share of what they leave, which was not the way that things were in the time of ignorance before Islam, when women and children were left out of the inheritance. This share is a right and its amount is clearly set out – as made obligatory by Allah.
