وَجَاءَتْ سَيَّارَةٌ فَأَرْسَلُوا وَارِدَهُمْ فَأَدْلَىٰ دَلْوَهُ ۖ قَالَ يَا بُشْرَىٰ هَٰذَا غُلَامٌ ۚ وَأَسَرُّوهُ بِضَاعَةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ
Likaja kundi la wasafiri wakamtuma mwenye kuwatafutia maji, alipoiteremsha ndoo yake kisimani, Yūsuf aliishikilia. Hapo mchota maji alifurahi na akachangamka kwa kumuokota mtoto na akasema, «Ni bishara njema iliyoje! Huyu ni mtoto wa kiume mzuri.» Mchota maji na wenzake walimficha Yūsuf asijulikane na wasafiri wengine wasiwaoneshe, na wakasema, «Hii ni bidhaa tuumeinunua.» Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mjuzi mno wa wanayomfanyia Yūsuf.

19. A passing caravan came by and they sent someone to draw water for them. He lowered his bucket into the well and Joseph caught hold of the rope. When the person who had lowered the bucket saw him, he happily said, ‘Good news! Here is a boy!’ The water-drawer and a few others hid him from the rest of the caravan, regarding him to be merchandise that they could trade. Allah knew what they were doing with Joseph when they treated him as an item of sale. No action of theirs was hidden from Him.
