Ali 'Imran · 3:180
وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ ۖ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ ۖ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَاثُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
E que os que são ávaros com o que Allah lhes concedeu de Seu favor não suponham que isso lhes seja um bem; ao contrário, isso lhes é um mal. No Dia da Ressurreição, estarão cingidos ao pescoço, por aquilo a que se apegarem com avareza(1). E de Allah é a herança dos céus e da terra. E Allah, do que fazeis, é Conhecedor.

(1) Conforme a tradição islâmica, os bens amealhados pelo avaro serão transformados, no Dia do Juízo, em enorme serpente, que lhe cingirá o pescoço, à guisa de colar e o picará, da cabeça aos pés, repetindo-lhe, incessantemente: "sou tua riqueza, sou teus tesouros".

180. Those who are not generous with the blessings Allah has given them out of His kindness, not fulfilling Allah’s right with it, should not think that this is good for them. Rather, it is bad for them, because whatever they are miserly with will be hung around their necks on the Day of Judgement as a punishment. To Allah alone belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. He is the Living after all His creation has passed away. Allah is well aware of the good and evil that you do, and will reward you accordingly.
