Soera 7 · Djoez 8
Al-A'raf · 7:51
الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا ۚ فَالْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا لِقَاءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ
Die van den godsdienst hun spel en het onderwerp hunner spotternijen hebben gemaakt, terwijl het ondermaansche leven hen verblindde; daarom zullen wij dezen dag hen vergeten, gelijk zij de verzameling van dezen dag vergaten, en dewijl zij het loochenden, dat onze teekens die van God waren.

51. These disbelievers are the ones who used to mock and make fun of faith and were deluded by the life of the world, being engrossed in its pleasures and luxuries. On the Day of Judgement, Allah will forget them, and they will be left to suffer the punishment because they forgot the meeting of the Day of Judgement which they neglected despite them having full knowledge of it. They rejected Allah’s signs and proofs in condemnation, despite knowing and recognizing the truth of His message.
