Al-An'am · 6:112
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا شَيَاطِينَ الْإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُ ۖ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ
Zoo hebben wij voor iederen profeet een vijand doen ontstaan; de verleiders van menschen en geniussen, die elkander afzonderlijk klinkende gesprekken inbliezen, om te verblinden; maar indien het God had behaagd, zouden zij het niet hebben gedaan. Verlaat hen dus, en ook datgene, wat zij valschelijk hebben uitgedacht.

112. Just as I tested you with the hostility of these idolaters towards you, I tested every prophet before you. I made for each of them enemies of rebellious men and jinn, who used to whisper evil in the hearts of one another, beautifying falsehood in order to deceive them. If I willed them not to do so, they would not have done that; but I willed it as a test for them. So leave them to their fabrications of disbelief and falsehood, and pay no attention to them.
