Soera 46 · Djoez 26
Al-Ahqaf · 46:8
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِي مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ ۖ كَفَىٰ بِهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
Zullen zij zeggen: Mahomet heeft het (den Koran) uitgedacht? Antwoord: indien ik het heb versierd, waarlijk, dan zult gij geenerlei gunst voor mij van God verkrijgen. Doch hij kent de beleedigende taal, welke gij daaromtrent uitspreekt. Hij is een toereikende getuige tusschen mij en u, en hij is barmhartig en genadig.

8. Do these idolaters say: “Muhammad has made up this Qur’ān and attributed it to Allah?” Say to them, O Messenger: “If I have made it up on my own part, you do not have power over any plan for me if Allah wants to punish me, so how can I put myself at risk of punishment by fabricating against Him? Allah knows better the criticism of His Qur’ān and slandering me you engage in. He, (may He be glorified), is sufficient as a witness between me and you. And He is Forgiving of the sins of His servants who repent to Him, Merciful to them”.
