Soera 46 · Djoez 26
Al-Ahqaf · 46:11
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَا سَبَقُونَا إِلَيْهِ ۚ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا بِهِ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَٰذَا إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ
Maar zij die niet gelooven, zeggen van de ware geloovigen: Indien de leer van den Koran goed ware geweest, hadden zij die niet vroeger dan wij omhelsd. En als zij daardoor niet geleid worden, zeggen zij: Dit is eene overoude leugen.

11. And those who denied the Qur’ān and what their Messenger brought to them say: “If what Muhammad brought was true and guides towards good, these paupers, servants and weak people would not have preceded us towards it”. And because they are not guided to what their Messenger brought them, they will say: “This which he has brought us is an old lie, and we do not follow lies”.
