Soera 35 · Djoez 22

مَنْ كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ الْكَلِمُ الطَّيِّبُ وَالْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ يَرْفَعُهُ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ يَمْكُرُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ ۖ وَمَكْرُ أُولَٰئِكَ هُوَ يَبُورُ
Wie ooit uitnemendheid begeert, aan God behoort alle uitnemendheid; tot hem stijgen de goede woorden op, en hij zal de rechtvaardige daden verheffen. Maar wat hen betreft, die zondige listen uitdenken, zij zullen eene gestrenge straf ondergaan, en de plannen dier menschen zullen ijdel gemaakt worden.

10. Whoever wants honour in this world or in the Hereafter should only seek it from Allah, because for Allah alone is honour in both of them. His pleasant rememberance is elevated to Him, and the good deeds of His servants are raised to Him. And those who make evil schemes, such as trying to kill the Messenger (peace be upon him), will have a severe punishment. And the scheming of these disbelievers will perish and no objective of theirs will be realised.
