Soera 17 · Djoez 15
Al-Isra · 17:46
وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَنْ يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا ۚ وَإِذَا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَهُ وَلَّوْا عَلَىٰ أَدْبَارِهِمْ نُفُورًا
En wij bedekken hunne harten, opdat zij niet zouden begrijpen, en verzwaren hun gehoor. En indien gij, bij het herhalen van den Koran, slechts van uwen Heer melding maakt, wenden zij u den rug toe en ontvluchten de leer zijner eenheid.

46. I have put covers on their hearts so that they cannot understand the Qur’ān, and heaviness in their ears so that they cannot listen to it in a beneficial manner. When you mention your Lord in the Qur’ān alone, and you do not mention their so-called gods, they turn on their heels being far away from accepting Allah’s pure Oneness.
