إِذْ قَالُوا لَيُوسُفُ وَأَخُوهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىٰ أَبِينَا مِنَّا وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّ أَبَانَا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
Eens zeiden de broeders van Jozef tot elkander: Jozef en diens broeder zijn onzen vader dierbaarder dan wij; en toch maken wij een grooter getal uit: waarlijk onze vader verkeert in eene duidelijke dwaling.

8. At that time, the brothers said among themselves: Joseph and his full brother are more beloved to our father than we are, whereas we are a group large in number. Why does he prefer them to us? We think that our father is mistaken in preferring them to us without any apparent reason.
