قَالُوا يَا نُوحُ قَدْ جَادَلْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ جِدَالَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
Zij antwoorden: O Noach! gij hebt reeds met ons getwist, en hebt de twisten tusschen ons vermenigvuldigd; daarom breng thans de straf over ons, waarmede gij ons hebt bedreigd, indien gij waarheid spreekt.

32. Noah’s people said to him, out of stubbornness and pride, that he had debated and disputed long enough, and told him to bring them the punishment he had promised them, if he was telling the truth in what he claimed.
