Surah 22 · Juz 17
Al-Hajj · 22:12
يَدْعُو مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُ وَمَا لَا يَنْفَعُهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلَالُ الْبَعِيدُ
(12) He invokes instead of Allāh that which neither harms him nor benefits him. That is what is the extreme error.
Tafsir
12. He worships besides Allah idols which cannot harm him if he disobeys them, nor can they benefit him if he obeys them. That calling upon idols which can neither harm nor benefit is the misguidance far from the truth.
