Al-Ma'idah · 5:44
إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا التَّوْرَاةَ فِيهَا هُدًى وَنُورٌ ۚ يَحْكُمُ بِهَا النَّبِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ أَسْلَمُوا لِلَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالْأَحْبَارُ بِمَا اسْتُحْفِظُوا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَكَانُوا عَلَيْهِ شُهَدَاءَ ۚ فَلَا تَخْشَوُا النَّاسَ وَاخْشَوْنِ وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا بِآيَاتِي ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۚ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَحْكُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ
Gewiß, Wir haben die Tora hinabgesandt, in der Rechtleitung und Licht sind, womit die Propheten, die sich (Allah) ergeben hatten, für diejenigen, die dem Judentum angehören, walten, und so auch die Leute des Herrn und die Gelehrten, nach dem, was ihnen von der Schrift Allahs anvertraut worden war und worüber sie Zeugen waren. So fürchtet nicht die Menschen, sondern fürchtet Mich. Und verkauft Meine Zeichen nicht für einen geringen Preis! Wer nicht nach dem waltet, was Allah (als Offenbarung) herabgesandt hat, das sind die Ungläubigen.

44. I sent down the Torah to Moses (peace be upon him) containing guidance towards good and a light to make things clear. Judgement was given in accordance with it by the prophets of the Israelites, who had devoted themselves to following Me, as well as by the scholars who used to teach people because I had entrusted them with My book and made them guardians to preserve and protect it from distortion or change. They are witnesses that it is the truth and people refer to them with respect to it. So, Jews, do not fear people, but fear Me alone; and do not take in exchange for judgement in accordance with what I have revealed a small price of leadership, fame or wealth. Whoever does not pass judgement in accordance with what I have revealed and considers this to be lawful, better or equal to My judgement, then such people are truly disbelievers.
